THERAPIST | SUPERVISOR | TRAINER
I'm Anne Turnbull
I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant and BACP Accredited Therapist with over 17 years of experience working in private practice with children, young people and adults.
I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergence — including Autism and ADHD — and I specialise in trauma. In my EMDR practice I’ve worked with clients who serve in the military, police, fire service and ambulance service, as well as with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
I also work with adopted children and children in foster care through partnerships with Children’s Social Care and the NHS, with funding available through the Adoption Support Fund.
WHAT I OFFER
How I Can Help
EMDR Therapy
Evidence-based trauma therapy endorsed by the WHO and NHS. Helping your brain process and integrate distressing memories so they lose their power to cause distress.
Counselling
A safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for adults, children and young people to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace.
Supervision
Clinical supervision for EMDR practitioners and counsellors. Supporting therapists, school leaders and safeguarding professionals to reflect, develop and practise safely.
Training
Workshops and professional development in reflective supervision, peer-to-peer supervision and mental health awareness for schools and organisations.
MY APPROACH
Working With Trauma
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of all meaningful change. Whether we are working through trauma using EMDR, exploring feelings through counselling, or reflecting together in supervision — the foundation is always trust, safety and genuine care.
My work is informed by my deep experience with trauma across a range of settings and populations. I understand that seeking help can feel daunting, and I work hard to create a space where you feel heard, respected and supported at every step.
